Comprehensive Eye Tests

All eye tests are bulk-billed and all health funds are accepted.

During a comprehensive eye exam, our optometrists will assess much more than your visual acuity. He or she will test for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together and evaluate the health of your retina, optic nerve and retinal blood vessels.

Using the latest technology our friendly optometrists conduct professional and thorough eye exams in our testing rooms.

At the end of your examination, we will discuss with you the results of all of the testing, and any action that may be required.

Myopia Control

Myopia or short-sightedness is a common eye condition resulting from eyeball elongation which causes the image to focus at a point in front of the retina instead of on the surface of the retina. Myopia patients are able to see close objects but distant objects appear to be blurry.

Unfortunately myopia is a growing epidemic, showing onset at younger and younger ages and is the single greatest threat to our children’s vision.

There are many clues to children’s vision problems, blinking, rubbing the eyes, holding a book very close and closing one eye to read are just some of these clues. Ideally all children should be examined before they are 3 years old, and again before starting school. During the school years vision may rapidly change, we will advise you how often your child’s eyes should be examined, and any concerns you may have can be discussed with us.

Contact Lenses

Kings Eyewear offers a range of different contact lenses from leading brands to suit your lifestyle and budget.

Contact lenses can be worn for appearance and practicality reasons. They are less affected by wet weather, do not steam up, and provide a wider field of vision. They can be more suitable for a number of sporting activities than spectacles.

If you are interested in trying to switch to contact lenses you will need to book a consultation. Firstly, we see if you are suitable to be able to wear contact lenses. Then we guide you through the process of transitioning.
